Quartetto, Op. VI, No. 1 in C (Rauzzini)

Venanzio Rauzzini [1754-1791] was a famous castrato who sang in – and composed – many operas. Mozart wrote the motet Esultate Jubilate specifically for his talents.

This is the first of six delightful chamber concertini showing the influence of the young Mozart.

The keyboard part is obviously intended for a player of considerable technical skill, while the string parts mostly provide a supporting role. This colourful and charming piece would have undoubtedly been popular with audiences at the concert rooms and fashionable salons of London and Bath.

In this new edition, we have constructed a full score with parts based on the original printed copies.

Set consists of score (29p.) + 3 parts.
