Newcastle Fantasy (David Vine)
Based on the English folk song ‘Come you not from Newcastle’, this Fantasy was commissioned by pianist and clavichordist Kathleen Crees in 1968. It received its first public performance in a concert given by the London Telemann Ensemble at Leighton House, London, on 1 July 1972. The performers were Frances Hutt (cello) and David Vine (harpsichord).
